	In 2012 I participated in the 1000k's 4 Kids challenge along with 30 other fellow riders and 15 fantastic support crew. The experience was far more rewarding than I had ever imagined, enabling me to push my own boundaries both physically and mentally. I met an extremely vast group of wonderful, caring people, and am grateful to have been part of such an amazing and challenging experience.

	Apart from riding the 1,000 kilometres, I am more than willing to go above and beyond to raise money for this great cause. As a stroke survivor I reckon that if I can do this ride and raise money to help make it even a slight bit easier for these kids and their families, then that has got to be a good thing. Who doesn’t enjoy the fantastic sight of a smile on a kid’s face?

	There are a number of reasons why I am keen to participate in the Camp Quality ride. In 2006 I broke my leg playing soccer and took up cycling as part of my rehabilitation. I have enjoyed cycling so much that it is now my main method of exercise. I have been aware of the work Camp Quality does in providing happiness for families with children impacted by cancer.

	My wife and I attended the opening of Harry’s House in Stockton, where I received my first exposure to the wonderful energy of Camp Quality. I recently completed my Companion training and found myself even more motivated to help out. The Ride provides me with an opportunity to spread the word of Camp Quality and help out with much needed funding whilst providing a personal challenge to myself. I look forward to the Ride.

	After hearing all of the stories of the 2012 ride from my brother there was no way I was going to let him have all the fun in 2013. I had to sign up. The 1000k's 4 kids seems a great way to meet new people, see new places and gain exciting life experiences while contributing to such an important cause. This will be my first ever charity event, so excited for the ride. Can’t wait!
