Business
Manager at Caltex in the Mining Team Family, happily married to Ali
for 7 years, and favourite uncle to many!!
I
did the ride in 2012 and had a great experience and it's such a great cause
that I'm looking forward to the challenge again in 2013.

Why
am I doing the ride? Last year a group of mates and I completed this amazing
challenge, 1000k’s……… and together the 30 riders and 15 support crew exceeded
all fundraising expectations!! We created great friendships, while the money
raised will bring smiles to kids and their families in the most difficult
period of their lives.

This
will be my first time taking on the challenge. I was asked to join the
challenge by a number of participants in my RPM (spin) classes at the gym. I
thought about it for a few days and decided to give it a go. I've always
enjoyed a challenge and it’s for a great cause.
I have always admired the great work Camp Quality do for children and their families. Personally one of my close friends is battling cancer and this seemed an appropriate time to support and help people while they fight to win their battle. |

I
was involved in the Ride 4 Kids bike challenge from Armidale to Maitland in
2011 and came back again for the Sylvania 1000 K's 4 Kids from Ipswich to
Maitland in 2012. It was a fantastic 10 days and I really enjoyed
riding with all the people involved and raising money for this great cause,
so much so that I have once again signed up for the next 1000 K's 4 Kids to
take place in 2013.

Personally
Camp Quality has provided a great deal of support to my family at an
extremely emotional time and since seeing firsthand what a difference they
have made to our family since 2007 I have really wanted to ensure they can
continue to provide this support to other families, hence my involvement in
challenges like this that raise much needed funds.
