What Camp Quality does for kids and their
families is amazing. In a perfect world no child would ever have to deal to
with having cancer or having their family suffer from this awful disease, but
it’s not a perfect world.

I
have been involved with Camp Quality for 2 years
now and have had the privilege to work as a Nurse
on 2 Junior Camps. On my first camp I remember the smiles on the children’s
faces, the laughter, the freedom and play.
What
Camp Quality provides is both rewarding and amazing. The charity brings
not only a smile to the children, but to their families and those
who are involved with the program too.

Keeping
fit, active and challenged, three things I live by on a daily basis.
When hearing about this ride the last couple of years I have been eager
to help show support, raise funds and demonstrate awareness of Camp Quality.
I have seen first hand the smiles of the children who have been on camps and
how essential play, fun and laughter is towards their recovery.

I
participated in the first ride for kids 2 years ago when the ride was
480km's. This year I'm ready to tackle the 1000kms. I know it will be tough
but, I know that it will only last for 10 days and with the support of my
fellow bike Riders & Support Crew I know that I can make it to the end.
Here's hoping anyway!!

The
reason I wanted to do this ride is I visited a Camp with my job in 2012 and
stayed over for three nights. I found out how passionate Camp Companions are
about ensuring that every single kid on Camp has the best time and cancer is
the very last thing on their mind. The healing power of optimism was
everywhere – and it was contagious. These kids left Camp ready to face the
world – whatever it throws at them. So, fundraising for these kids really is
important and Camp Quality spends it in a way that has a lasting impact on
their lives.
